Brian Ricks returned to Newfoundland in 1993 after spending seven years in Canada learning his trade. The schooling ranged from The Toronto School of Art to Ryerson Polytechnical Institute's Stills Photography Program, plus endless hours assisting commercial photographers shoot everything from cars to Corn Flakes and everything in between. All this combined with a multitude of varied shooting jobs helped to form Brian's style and set him up with a good foundation of photographic knowledge. Now with the new Studio Gallery and a place to call home again he can return to his true passion of photographing Newfoundland, it's people, and all it has to offer. |
